In 2015, Chris Lawrence and Camille Koll established Fetherston Vintners. They are dedicated to producing single-vineyard expressions of primarily Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Chris and Camille are dedicated to crafting wines that show their interpretation of vineyards that have captured their attention as well as their imagination.

Chris Lawrence’s wine foundations began while studying Science/Oenology at the University of Southern Queensland, following a career in restaurant kitchens around Australia. Ultimately he would graduate as valedictorian and Faculty Medal winner for Science. During his studies, he worked at Yering Station. Camille grew up in Hoddles Creek not far from where her career began at Domaine Chandon. In her seven years at Chandon, Camille gained invaluable insights into branding, marketing and customer service.

Fetherston’s winemaking style is built from Chris’ experience at Yering Station. He started out as a junior cellar hand ultimately being promoted to assistant winemaker from 2010-2014. His international experience at Domaine Serene in Oregon’s Willamette Valley gave him further insight into great Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. In 2014, he took on the role of winemaker at Sunshine Creek in the Yarra Valley.

SUSTAINABILITY.

In the vineyard, they take a biological approach, bringing balance and biodiversity to the ecosystem and allowing for the truest expression of each site to shine through in the wines. Abstaining from the use of herbicides and allowing native grasses to flourish, the natural composition of the soils has improved, building habitat for beneficial microbes, insects and other life-forms.
