SUSTAINABILITY

The fruit for all the Mazi wines is sourced from family-owned, generational vineyards from McLaren Vale, some up to 70 years old. These are old school, natural farmers who value soil and vine health and know how to grow amazing grapes with minimal intervention.

Every wine from Mazi is 100% vegan friendly.

Founded by lifelong friends Alex Katsaros and Toby Porter, Mazi is a contemporary McLaren Vale label built on friendship, shared vision, and a love of expressive wines.

The name Mazi – Greek for “together” – captures the heart of their philosophy: wine as a collective experience, crafted to bring people closer.

Sourcing fruit from some of McLaren Vale’s most distinctive sub-regions, Alex and Toby work with vineyards that highlight the region’s Mediterranean climate and ancient soils. Their focus is on varieties that thrive in this environment: grenache, mourvèdre, and cinsault – in addition to the Kefalonian variety mavrodaphne – resulting in purpose-built wines of vibrancy and definition.

In the winery, everything is guided by a small-batch, hands-on approach. Wild ferments, gentle extraction, and careful use of oak allow each wine to speak with clarity and precision.
