The story begins in 2013 when long time friends
Mijan Patterson and Livia Maiorana decided that their goal of starting a wine label would require experience working in the best wineries around the world.
Thus began a global expedition stopping in California, Italy, France and British Columbia, small producers, large producers and every size in between gave insight into the challenges and rewards of making wine reflective of origin.
South By South West was founded in 2016 around
the goal of expressing the wine growing regions of the south west corner of Australia. The wines are lovingly crafted from their own organic vineyard in Wallcliffe, Margaret River as well as a network of sustainable vineyards throughout various subregions of south Western Australia.
Sustainability in every aspect of production is a keystone of the brand, The South By South West Vineyard situated in Wallcliffe Margaret River is 100% Organic with the application of biodynamic principles. The vineyards that supplement this source are all managed under strict guidelines set by the team and strive to utilise organic inputs and reduce irrigation where possible. The wines are made with minimal intervention and minimal sulphur usage. Packaging is lightweight and carbon footprint is kept front of mind in every decision.
